PACE fellows and principal investigators met for the third time this year. They gathered in Lyon for PACE Thematic Workshop II that took place from 12 to 14 October 2016. It was organised by PACE partner and beneficiary WTCN, in collaboration with local experts in ‘active Inference’ from the Cortex multi-lab Research Program based in l’Université de Lyon. The joint collaboration was a success.
It began with introductory lectures focusing on applications of active inference to behavioural and brain imaging data analyses most relevant to PACE ESRs.
Hence, PACE fellows and PhD students in neuroscience from Lyon and Marseille were prepared to attend the first edition of the Lyon Active Inference Workshop (LAW) on the second and third day.
LAW provided a broader and deeper overview of the different domains of application of active inference. The international expert speakers shared their knowledge about the brain at different scales of analyses as well as from different perspectives (from robotics to clinical psychiatry).
PACE fellows were given the opportunity to interact and socialise with the experts during two social evening events. The next PACE Thematic Workshop (TW3) will be organised by PACE partner IIT in Genoa in September 2017.
